What is the significance of social day?

Meaning of "Social Day": In ancient times, the day of offering sacrifices to the land gods was generally the fifth day after beginning of autumn in beginning of spring. Occasionally, there are four offerings.

Social Day is an ancient traditional festival in China, also called Earth Born Heaven, that is, the day of offering sacrifices to the land gods. It is divided into spring club day and autumn club day. Spring Festival is the fifth May Day after beginning of spring, usually around February 2. Social Day is an important day in the south. The main agricultural activities in the south are sericulture, transplanting and harvesting rice.

This festival is usually celebrated by southerners. We usually set off firecrackers, fry soybeans, sacrifice to the dragon king and cut our hair on February 2. At this time, spring returns to the earth and everything recovers. It is a good season for spring ploughing and sowing, which indicates the beginning of a year's farming activities. It means the same as the South Spring Festival, except that their main activity is to worship the land god.
