Argan

Argan is of course not the argan of Hollywood blockbusters, it is a kind of plant called argan, whose fruits look like olives, but are smaller than olives.

The argan tree is endemic to Morocco, drought-resistant and heat-resistant, mostly growing in southern Morocco, with a lifespan of about 150 to 200 years.

The argan oil pressed from the argan fruit is a very precious oil. Argan oil is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, and contains twice as much vitamin E as olive oil, and is much richer in linoleic acid than olive oil.

Once upon a time, making cosmetics from agarwood and argan oil has been a secret known only to Berber women. Argan oil as a beauty product can be used to massage the face, nails, hair and body. It is said that due to the high content of vitamin E and saponins (which soften the skin), argan oil has a remarkable anti-wrinkle effect. Many Europeans who go to Morocco, will go to the old city of Morocco store to find this 'oil' as a souvenir and gift to friends and relatives have, or their own use.

Dates

In Morocco, date palms are more common and more civilian than agaves. In gardens, along the streets and in yards, date palms of different heights and thicknesses can be seen everywhere.
