What are the two classifications of traditional Chinese painting? What is the difference and unity between these two classifications?
The traditional methods of Chinese painting include brushwork and freehand painting. In the former, the brushwork is meticulous and neat, the structure is rigorous, and the characters and scenery are portrayed in a very specific and detailed way; in the latter, the brushwork is concise and highly generalized, which expresses the form and spirit of the objects and the author's feelings in a spontaneous way. However, no matter it is brush painting, or writing painting, in dealing with the relationship between the form and the spirit are required to "God and form", in the modeling and expression of the mood are required to "vividness".
