The concept of forest classified management

Forest classified management is based on the principle of combining ecological benefits with economic benefits, which classifies some important stands in forest ecological location as public welfare forests, with the aim of giving priority to ecological benefits, and then classifies some stands with good site conditions as commercial forests, with the aim of giving priority to economic benefits and adopting different management methods for the two types of stands. This is forest classified management. According to the different attributes of leading products provided by forests, a three-level classification system of "forest-forest species-secondary forest species" was established.

< < Article 4 of the Forest Law divides forests into five types according to their uses and business purposes: shelter forests, timber forests, economic forests, firewood forests and special-purpose forests.

Classified management of forestry is a new forestry management system and development model under the condition of socialist market economy, according to the needs of society for ecology and economy, and according to the different functions and advantages of forests, forests are divided into public welfare forests and commercial forests, and operated according to their own characteristics and laws.
