What is a friction pad?

The friction pad is installed on the friction wheel (guide wheel) of the mine friction hoist, which is a very important part of the friction hoist to drive the steel wire rope and lift the load. The friction performance will directly affect the working ability and efficiency of the hoist.

Friction pads bear all the weights of steel wire rope, container weight, cargo weight and balance tail rope weight, as well as various dynamic loads and impact loads during operation. The hoist relies on the friction between the wire rope and the gasket to transmit power. If the friction coefficient between them is too low, the hoist will slip, resulting in high-speed overwinding, which will lead to accidents such as the hoisting wire rope being pulled off and the hoisting container falling into the bottom of the well. In view of the important role of friction lining, it is required that friction lining must have sufficient compressive strength; Must have a large enough friction coefficient with the wire rope to prevent sliding during lifting.
