What's the difference between electroless plating and electroplating?

Electroless plating is a coating formed by reducing metal ions to atomic adsorption on some substrate surfaces (such as iron) or activated surfaces (such as ABS palladium) through redox reaction under a certain PH value and temperature environment. Electroless plating is suitable for some metals or some nonmetals. Electroplating takes the plated product as cathode, soluble or insoluble metal as anode, and various main salts as electrolyte to form a metal electrodeposition coating on the surface of the plated product by direct current or pulse current. Electroplating must be formed on metal or nonmetal surfaces by electroless plating or other metallized surfaces.
