Not all picture books are picture books.

We all know that "picture books", also known as "picture books", are children's books that convey information or tell stories through a large number of coherent pictures and pictures.

According to the concept of picture books, are all picture books called picture books? Then let's discuss these forms. Are these the forms of books that we often come into contact with?

The first form-activity book

Many preschool children should have this at home, and our parents will buy it for their children. Similar to this kind of connection, stickers, or maze walking, cognition is mainly accomplished through some games such as coloring, paper cutting, tearing paper, and some manual forms, which is more suitable for kindergartens to let children know the world through various forms. This type is not a picture book, but an activity book.

The second form-comic books

After 70 s and 80 s, they may be familiar with it. This is the comic book we read when we were children. Comic book, also known as picture book, is an ancient traditional art in China, which was formed after the popularization of printing in Song Dynasty. It tells the story through this continuous picture, portrays the character, and contains the rich content of this theme. If the comic book traces back to the history, it can be found in this Han stone relief, such as Dunhuang frescoes in the Northern Wei Dynasty, etc., and more is to depict some biographies related to Buddhism. It belongs to an ancient art form.

The third form-comics

This cartoon uses some exaggerated metaphors or symbols, and several cartoons are divided and arranged together through multiple pages. It is very entertaining, and this form does not belong to society.

The fourth form-bridge book

Our primary school days. Contact with a carrier form, this carrier form is called a bridge book, because this type is between picture books and textbooks, and it is more suitable for young children to read independently, out of parent-child reading, and does not belong to this category.

The fifth form-chapter book

This kind of picture book naturally does not belong to picture books. This kind of chapter book is mainly written in words, and its content is divided into several chapters. The picture is just an accessory design. After removing this picture, it has no effect on the reading content of the text. This kind of chapter book is more suitable for middle and advanced students.

The above forms: activity books, comic books, comic books, bridge books and chapter books all belong to this additive relationship between words and pictures, not picture books. Because these pictures are removed, sometimes they don't really affect the reading of words.

Last time we shared, we said that picture books should not be the relationship between words and pictures, but the mode of words multiplied by pictures, that is, using pictures and words to tell a complete story, which is the relationship between pictures and texts.

I believe that you should know more about picture books through what is a picture book shared last time, plus several forms that are not picture books mentioned today. How to choose a suitable picture book for children? Let's meet again next time!
