Who is the designer of this building? Hoban.
Irish architect Hoban was born in 1755 and died in 1834. Hoban immigrated to the United States in 1785 and became an architect in Philadelphia. His design stood out from nine schemes and won the title of champion of the White House Design Competition.
The construction of the White House began in 1792, lasted nearly 10 years, and was not completed until 1800. Hoban's design is a sandstone building in neoclassical style. The main building is white, hence the name "White House". The architectural style and design concept of the White House reflect American values and political ideas, and also show Hoban's unique design talent and profound artistic attainments.
