What is silicon-carbon alloy?
Ferroalloy with silicon, chromium and iron as the main components. Also known as ferrosilicon alloy. During the cooling process, the alloy continues to precipitate silicon carbide, which floats to the contact surface between slag and alloy and enters the slag. Through slag washing, the carbon content in slag can reach 4%, and the carbon content in alloy can be reduced to 0.02%. Slag washing not only has high carbon reduction rate, but also can recover chromium from micro-carbon ferrochromium slag. The chromium content in slag is reduced. The experiment and production practice show that the deoxidation alloying technology of silicon-carbon alloy converter can greatly reduce the steelmaking cost per ton of steel, create considerable economic benefits and improve the market competitive advantage of steel. Usage: it can be directly added to the bottom of ladle by manual operation, or it can be automatically added to the bottom of ladle through the chute of silo: if refining, it can also be added directly during refining. Choose different indexes and additions according to different steel grades. Carbon content can be adjusted according to different steel grades to meet the needs of different steel grades.
