Old lamp holder structure with socket
The lamp holder has two terminals, L and N. The zero line is directly connected to the screw, and the live wire is connected to L. When the switch is in the "ON" position, it is connected to the middle electrode, and the reed in the middle of the lamp holder is connected to supply power to the positive electrode of the lamp. When the switch is in the "ON" position (as shown in the figure below), L is disconnected from the middle electrode and the lamp goes out.
