2. Lantern Festival

According to folklore experts in Hainan Province, "Flower Exchange Festival" originated from "Fragrance Exchange Festival". At the end of the Tang Dynasty, there were activities to decorate lanterns and change incense. "Changing incense" means that local people exchange incense, which means changing Jina incense and making a fortune.

Later, for the sake of festival safety, 1984, the folk custom of "changing fragrance" in Fucheng was changed to "changing flowers", which gradually became the main activity for people to have fun during the Lantern Festival and evolved into a new custom for young people to pursue love.

Flower Festival was originally a unique folk festival in Fucheng, with a long history. It is said that it originated in the Tang Dynasty. However, the past is a fragrance, not a flower, which means that the fragrance is inexhaustible. After the establishment of the Special Zone in Hainan Province, the traditional incense party has become a trendy flower party, and the scale, scope and area of activities have expanded year by year, forming a new form of entertainment that integrates friendship, beauty, happiness and celebration.

The custom of Spring Festival in Hainan is similar to that in the mainland. Put up couplets on New Year's Eve, burn incense at the dawn of the first day, set off firecrackers, put rice cakes in the ancestral hall, wrap jiaozi, and open the door to welcome the new year. After getting up and washing in the morning, both men and women should put on new clothes, their shoes must be clean and neatly dressed, and everyone they meet says auspicious wishes. On that day, it is forbidden to sweep the floor, fetch water, move needles and scissors, pour dirt, buy things, drink Tu Su wine, make lettuce, spring vegetables, cakes and have a reunion dinner. No going out of town. From that night on, you must decorate fruits in the ancestral hall until the Lantern Festival.

In the morning, a new year is ushered in, followed by a new year. Let go of the opening gun and celebrate the New Year. Early in the morning, the married daughter returned to her parents' home with a big plate of rice cakes to pay New Year's greetings. If my daughter gets married that year, she will eat more rice cakes. After ancestor worship, all the rice cakes are distributed to neighbors, and then the elders lead their families out to visit relatives and friends. Relatives and friends bring gifts to celebrate and give lucky money to their children. During the Spring Festival, local activities will also be held, with dragon dances all over the streets and alleys, as well as customs such as voice adjustment and temple worship. When you go to worship God, you usually worship in the temple.

In Wanning, putting lanterns on lanterns is a popular folk entertainment custom for a long time. In Xinglong Scenic Area, whenever there are festivals, celebrations or large-scale activities, there is a custom of putting lanterns on lanterns to pray for blessings. In Xinglong Cultural and Entertainment Square, people gather together, put lanterns and let go of their wishes.
