What are developed and developing countries?

The classification of developed and developing countries is based on four aspects, GDP per capita, industrial technology, science and technology and social welfare.

Developed countries, also known as developed countries and advanced countries. It refers to those countries that have a higher level of economic and social development and a higher standard of living for their people. Also known as high economic development countries (MEDC), developed countries are generally characterized by high human development indices, gross national product per capita, industrialization levels, and quality of life. Higher GNP per capita and HDI can also be achieved through the exploitation of natural resources, but they may not necessarily be developed countries, such as Qatar, Brunei Darussalam, and Saudi Arabia.

Developing countries, also known as developing countries and underdeveloped countries, refer to countries with a lower degree of economy, technology, and standard of living of the people, as opposed to developed countries. Developing countries are evaluated mainly on the basis of the relatively low per capita GDP of the country, which usually refers to countries including Asia, Africa, Latin America and other regions, accounting for more than 70% of the world's land area and total population.

Social Welfare

Social welfare in the broad sense refers to all the things that benefit people such as services, goods, money and all kinds of efforts made by people, while social welfare in the narrow sense exists in the era and regional differences. Therefore, the concept of social welfare in the narrow sense has different meanings in different countries and at different times, and is a dynamic and culturally relevant concept.

The welfare provided by the state to ensure the basic standard of living of all citizens is not aimed at meeting all the welfare needs of all members. Rather, it is only the basic subsistence welfare needs of all members of society, such as clothing, food, housing, transportation, etc., and it should also constantly strive to improve the quality of life of all citizens.
