As a native of Putian, Fujian, I will introduce my hometown customs during the Spring Festival in Putian.

First, cut the window grilles.

Window grilles are paper-cut pasted on window paper or window glass, which is one of the traditional folk arts of Han nationality in ancient China. It has a long history and unique style, and is deeply loved by people at home and abroad.

In order to set off the festive atmosphere, the vast rural areas put paper-cuts on the windows before the Spring Festival. Generally speaking, the style of window grilles is relatively free, except for the "corner flower" stuck in the four corners and the "group flower" folded and cut, there is no restriction on its outer contour. The theme of window grilles is very wide, and there are a lot of drama stories. Window grilles are more common in the north.

Second, go back to your mother's house.

The second day is commonly known as "wedding day". On this day, married daughters will bring their sons-in-law and gifts in pairs. The bride's family can't accept it all, and she has to take some back when she goes back to her husband's house. Daughters who go back to their parents' homes must bring some gifts and red envelopes to their children.

Third, the off-year dynasty

In traditional customs, the third day of the third lunar month is considered as the day when mice marry women, so you should rest early at night and don't disturb mice to marry women.

Rats have a taste of "whoever doesn't let me have a good day, I will make him feel bad for a whole year". If they are disturbed and marry a daughter, rats will hurt the family. Go to bed early for the harvest in the field!

Fourth, dragon and lion dances.

Dragons are legendary auspicious animals. It is said that you can summon the wind and rain in the sky, and you can also pray for the elimination of disasters on earth. As early as the Han Dynasty, there were dragon dances for rain. Besides dragon dancing, there is also lion dancing, which is also a common custom during the Spring Festival. Also known as playing the lion.

Fifth, drink Tu Su wine.

What is Tu Su wine? Tu Su is the name of a kind of grass. It is said that Tu Su wine was invented by Hua Tuo, a famous doctor in the late Han Dynasty, and the custom of drinking Tu Su wine was spread by Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty. Every year in the twelfth lunar month, Sun Simiao always sends a pack of medicine to his neighbors, telling them to take medicine to soak wine and drink it on New Year's Eve, which can prevent the plague. Since then, after several generations, drinking Tu Su wine has become the custom of China New Year. Ancient people drank Tu Su wine in a unique way. Usually old people drink first, but young children drink first. The old man was in the back, and everyone only drank a little. The ancients explained: "Young people have achieved success, so congratulations; The old man lost his age and was punished. "
