Do you know how many kinds of meeting etiquette there are in the history of China?
One is bowing (bowing ceremony)
Bowing ceremony is the most common meeting etiquette. The way is to put your hands together (usually your right hand is clenched and your left hand is placed above your right hand) and raise it to your chest, standing without leaning down, indicating general courtesy. If you are a guest, when you sit down in the door, the host and the guest salute each other politely and humbly. At this time, you are bowing, which is called "bowing".
Bowing is the same as making a fist with both hands, arching and pressing down again, while lowering your head and leaning forward slightly. Bowing is a common etiquette in daily life. In addition to the above social occasions, people often bow to thank, congratulate, apologize and entrust others to do things. People with high status often bow to people with low status in return. Society also has a ritual of bowing down to the Supreme One, that is, kneeling on the ground and touching the ground with rhythm, which is called bowing down. Nowadays, the worship ceremony can only be seen in remote rural New Year activities, and it is generally no longer implemented. In today's society, when people meet, they usually use the handshake ceremony introduced from western society.
The second is the worship ceremony.
Worship: an ancient etiquette to show respect. In ancient times, worship was just bending over, putting your hands together on your chest, leaning your head forward and touching your hands on your forehead, just like Yi. Later, it also refers to bowing, landing with both hands or kowtowing to the ground as "worship"

Farewell: Worship twice as a farewell to show the solemnity of etiquette. In the past, "farewell" was usually used at the end of a letter to show respect.
Nod: kneel on the ground and knock your head. "Pause" means pause. When saluting, the head touches the ground, so it is nodded because its head touches the ground for a short time. Such as greetings and farewells between bureaucrats, greetings, visits and farewells between people, etc. It is also often used at the beginning or end of a letter.
Kowtow: An ancient bowing ceremony. Kneeling and touching the ground for a long time is kowtowing. "Ji" means staying and delaying. When saluting, the giver kneels, presses his left hand on his right hand, supports the ground with his hands, slowly touches the ground with his head in front of his knees and his head behind his hands. The head must stay on the ground for some time. Kowtowing is the most important etiquette, which is often used by courtiers when they visit the king.
The third is the ceremony of sitting.
Social etiquette is orderly, and seats are also divided into primary and secondary positions. Noble people sit on the table, and humble people sit last. There are certain rules for who sits in it and where. If you take the wrong seat blindly, not only will the host be unhappy, but you will regret your rudeness afterwards. If you are not sure what kind of seat to take, the best way is to listen to the host's arrangement. Indoor seats face east, that is, guests sit in the west seat, and the host usually accompanies them to sit in the east seat. Older people can be arranged in the south, that is, the north block. The younger generation who accompany the wine is generally in the north, that is, the south seat. The rule of sitting is that when eating, the human body should be as close as possible to the food table, and when not eating, the body should lean back as far as possible. This is called "sitting empty". If a distinguished guest comes, you should get up to meet him at once.
