What is the story of Genji?

The Tale of Genji written by Japanese writer Murasaki shikibu is the earliest novel in the world.

Tale of Genji is the earliest novel in Japan and the first novel in the world at present, with a total of 54 volumes,1100,000 words. It was written by Nobu Murasaki (973- 1 192), a famous female writer in Heian period. She used to be a concubine of an official, but later she was widowed and lived by her father and brother. After ten years of widowhood, she entered the palace as a female official of a queen. This novel was written by her to the queen for the emperor's entertainment. This novel describes the struggle in the palace and reflects the helpless status and miserable life of women at that time. Genji, known as Japan's "national treasure", is the surname of the protagonist in the first half of the novel, and "story" means "telling", which is a genre in Japanese classical literature, similar to the "legend" in ancient China.

Japan is a country full of contradictions. At the same time, the tradition of discriminating against women prevails, and the world's earliest long realistic novel Tale of Genji was written by a woman. It can probably be regarded as a dream of red mansions in Japan, because the relationship between characters is complex, with as many as 400 characters. The Source mainly tells the life of Japanese aristocrats in Heian period, and takes Guangyuan's story as the core, bringing out many ambiguous women. Kwai Ji is his Tang Huo in law, with noble background and indifferent temperament. Guangyuan snubbed her, and she gradually got barnacles, chestnuts, chestnuts and many other beloved women. There are more than a dozen aristocratic women who have been close to Guangyuan's family, such as a long moonlit night, a beautiful sunset, and a six-product imperial meal. Or because of a chance encounter, or because of a long-lasting relationship, a large number of realistic sketches in the book let the nobles live a decadent and surprisingly elegant and beautiful life in front of readers, but they are still charming after thousands of years. For foreign readers, the first problem in understanding this work is to enjoy the beautiful and ambiguous interactive atmosphere in Japanese culture before being confused by a large number of names. There are many descriptions of sex in the book, so it is not surprising that Japanese works such as Paradise Lost or the Kingdom of Senses will appear in the future. After all, in 100 1 year, the Japanese had already enjoyed this fragile dike with a serious attitude.
