In the end, they are not Chinese, not foreign, not trippy, not classy.

It's obviously an oriental fantasy, but there are western castles, western monsters, western art, western aesthetic culture, it's all over the place.

Shen Tan Pu Song Ling is slightly better, not so westernized, but on the other hand, it's completely easternized.
