What does urbanization mean?

Urbanization (urbanisation/urbanisation) is the historical process of gradual transformation from a traditional rural society dominated by agriculture to a modern urban society dominated by industry and services, which some scholars also call township and urbanization, specifically including the transformation of the occupation of the population, the transformation of the industrial structure, and the change of the land and geographical space. According to the 2012 China's New Urbanization Report, China's urbanization rate exceeded 50%. This means that China's urban population has exceeded its rural population for the first time, and China's urbanization has entered a critical stage of development. However, the urbanization rate is generally classified as 40% to 50% in the test-based education.
