Protective measures of traditional construction technology of China wooden arch bridge

1. Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress promulgated the Regulations on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Zhejiang Province, and Fujian Provincial People's Congress promulgated the Regulations on the Protection of National Folk Traditional Culture in Fujian Province, which provided legislative protection for the natural ecological environment and traditional construction techniques of wooden arch bridges. Zhejiang provincial government set up special funds to protect covered bridges. Ningde Municipal People's Government issued the Notice on the Protection of Wooden Arch Bridges in Our City, which stipulated a series of practical measures to protect wooden arch bridges. In 2006, the covered bridges in Northeast Fujian and Taishun were announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units, and other wooden arch bridges were also listed as provincial and county-level cultural relics protection units over the years, establishing a national, provincial and county-level protection system.

2. Carry out the protection of folk art inheritors. On the basis of the general survey, the leaders of national, provincial and municipal skills inheritance such as Dong Zhiji, Duo Jin Zheng, Zheng Duoxiong, Huang Chuncai and Huang Min were announced, and they were given subsidies to support their personal lives and provide them with a platform to show and impart their skills. In 2006, Dong Zhiji built Le Tong Bridge and Qionghua Bridge in Taishun and Wenzhou respectively, and Duo Jin Zheng, a craftsman of Shouning, presided over the construction of Qingyuan Wooden Arch Bridge-Huaxi Bridge. In 2007, Pingnan craftsman Huang Chuncai built Shuanglong Bridge on Baishuiyang, a tourist attraction, and in 2008, he built Jinshi Bridge in Ciyun Village, chang qiao zhen, Pingnan.

3. China CCTV filmed the bridge-building process of craftsmen Dong Zhiji and Duo Jin Zheng, and spread their bridge-building skills. In 2006, Shouning craftsmen made seven bridge models, which were hidden in the Covered Bridge Museum in Shouning County. Huang Chuncai, a craftsman from Pingnan, also made six bridge models, which were hidden in Ningde Museum and Ningde Art Museum to show visitors the construction skills of wooden arch bridges.

4. Hold two international academic seminars on wooden arch bridges, and bridge experts from various countries will exchange the research results of construction technology. On-the-spot investigation and data collection were carried out, and archaeological research works such as Hongliangmu Covered Bridge, Taishun Covered Bridge, Ningde Hongqiao, Pingnan Covered Bridge and Shouning Covered Bridge in Ningde City were published, and construction technology CDs and video materials were also produced, which effectively protected the construction technology archives.
