Key points of external wall thermal insulation construction

External thermal insulation of external wall: refers to the construction of external surface thermal insulation layer of vertical external wall, using masonry or concrete. This kind of external thermal insulation can be used for the reconstruction of new walls or existing buildings.

Thermal insulation (material)

The thermal insulation materials that can be used are: expanded polystyrene (EPS) board, extruded polystyrene (XPS) board, rock wool board, glass wool felt and ultra-light thermal insulation slurry. Among them, flame retardant expanded polystyrene board is widely used.

Insulation board fixation

Some will bond or anchor the insulation board on the base, and some will be a combination of the two, mainly bonding or anchoring.

surface course

The thin plastering surface layer is coated with polymer adhesive on all external surfaces of the insulation layer. Directly coated on the insulation layer is primer, which is very thin (generally 2 ~ 3 mm). The interior is covered with reinforcing material.

Parts and auxiliary materials

At the joints and corners, some spare parts and auxiliary materials, such as bolts, pins, butyl rubber and silicone paste, will be used.
