Who are the allies of the United States?
The allies of the United States are Japan, South Korea, Israel, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Germany, and Qatar. In international relations, there are two definitions of alliances, broadly defined as formal or informal security cooperation arrangements between sovereign states. That is to say, as long as the states undertake security obligations to each other, it constitutes an alliance in the substantive sense, regardless of the form in which the obligation relationship is manifested.
By this definition, the U.S. junior partners cover about 60 countries around the globe, with Japan, South Korea, Israel, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Germany, and Qatar, among others, as U.S. allies in a broad sense.
Characteristics of the United States
The United States is rich in natural resources, with the world's largest total proven reserves of mineral resources. Mineral reserves of coal, petroleum, natural gas, iron ore, potash, phosphate, and sulfur are among the largest in the world. Other minerals mainly include copper, lead, molybdenum, uranium, bauxite, gold, mercury, nickel, potassium carbonate, silver, tungsten, zinc, aluminum, bismuth and so on. Strategic mineral resources such as titanium, manganese, cobalt and chromium are mainly imported.
The forest area is about 4.4 billion acres, with a coverage rate of 33%. The United States has 20.68 billion barrels of proven crude oil reserves, ranking 13th in the world, 7.716 trillion cubic meters of proven natural gas reserves, ranking 5th in the world, and 491 billion tons of proven coal reserves, ranking first in the world.
