Is the level of playing chess related to intelligence? Is the chess master clever?

Personal feeling: level is related to intelligence, but it has little to do with it. Chess players are not necessarily clever.

Many people don't know the concept of "intelligence". What we generally think of as "smart" is a relatively high IQ. In fact, the real "intelligence" is IQ+a lot of knowledge accumulation. Without knowledge accumulation, no matter how high your IQ is, you are not smart.

A chess master is not necessarily knowledgeable, and it is not bad who plays more chess. If you want to go further, you need to have considerable knowledge. Unfortunately, many chess players, or many people, don't quite understand this truth.

The intelligence of chess masters is generally not bad, at least above average. However, I think a high level of intelligence is helpful to enlightenment. At least in a short time, if the level is improved, you can have a better interest in learning chess. However, there is a strange situation. Some people are good at chess. Later, due to accidental brain injury and mental degradation, self-care thinking also became a problem. But playing chess is still very powerful, but it is difficult to improve. It seems that after the stereotype, the level is not linked to intelligence. So I think that intelligence is only directly related to learning ability.
