In order to carry forward the national spirit and let students know more about the traditional culture of China, the No.5 (6) Squadron mobilized its members to learn how to make zongzi before the Dragon Boat Festival, and collected and produced various kinds of "zongzi". The exhibition column in the classroom is posted with an introduction about the Dragon Boat Festival, including its origin, customs and appreciation of ancient poems. Handicrafts such as sachets and "Zongzi" made by students are hung on the bright window glass. Students actively participated in this activity and experienced the profound connotation of China traditional culture through their own practical work. Through the arrangement of exhibition halls and the infiltration of teaching, students have deepened their understanding of the significance of the Dragon Boat Festival and created a happy and harmonious campus atmosphere. May 3rd1this year is a traditional festival in China-Dragon Boat Festival. According to legend, the ancient poet Qu Yuan committed suicide by throwing himself into the river on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. In order to commemorate him, later generations regard this day as a festival, and have customs such as eating zongzi and racing dragon boats. Last Sunday, my mother and I made a lot of zongzi. I was curious to see my mother making zongzi that day. I asked my mother if she could teach me. My mother readily agreed and gave me a demonstration.

I saw that she picked two leaves first, one large and one small, and stacked them together. Then she pinched both ends of the leaf with both hands, rolled it into a funnel, put rice and meat in it, sealed it and tied it with a rope.

I followed my mother's example, picked up two zongzi leaves and rolled them into a funnel. Who knows, this zongzi leaf doesn't listen to me and always turns into some strange shapes. Later, my mother helped me make a funnel shape. Then, I put some rice in with a spoon and a delicious piece of sauce meat in it. Then I ordered some rice to cover the meat. When I covered the leaves of Zongzi and prepared to tie them with a rope, I suddenly let go and spilled rice all over the floor. The first time I did jiaozi, I failed. I was a little discouraged, and my mother encouraged me to say, "It doesn't matter. Come on, try it again! " "Hearing this, I have confidence again. I can't believe that a zongzi package is not good.

The second zongzi wrapping began. Everything is going well in the front, and you should be more careful when you get to the back. It's time to tie the rope again. My mother reminded me: "You are not skilled yet. You should slow down and be careful. " I became more and more cautious. I picked up a long piece of hemp rope, wrapped jiaozi round and round until it was tightly tied, and finally tied a knot. I checked it several times and found no loopholes. I gave it to my mother at ease. Mom read it and praised me straight: "Well done!"

I am really happy today, because I learned to make zongzi. How many times in my life for the first time, I will keep trying.
