Ningxia is rich in coal resources, with proven reserves of 30.8 billion tons and predicted reserves of 202.7 billion tons, ranking fifth and sixth in the country respectively, mainly distributed in Helanshan coalfield and Ningdong coalfield. Taixi coal is the most famous high-quality anthracite in the world, which has the characteristics of "three lows and six highs". It is the best raw material for metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries. Known as "the king of coal" and "Taixi Wujin" at home and abroad, the products are exported to more than ten countries and regions such as Britain, France and Canada, as well as more than 200 domestic steel mills and chemical plants. Ningdong Unbonded Coal (commonly known as Xiangzhazi) has been recognized as environmental protection clean coal by government departments because of its characteristics of ultra-low ash, ultra-low sulfur, ultra-low phosphorus and high calorific value. It is a good thermal coal and chemical raw material, which is mainly supplied to major power plants and chemical enterprises inside and outside the region. As a civil fuel, it is favored by users in this region and surrounding provinces. "Taixi Coal" and "Xiangzhazi" clean coal have passed ISO9002 and ISO 1400 1 international quality/environmental system certification respectively.
