2, Confucius is not ashamed to ask

The disciples thought, "The teacher often asked for advice, and was not ashamed of it!" To be open-minded and willing to learn from all people, including those of lower status than oneself, is called "not being ashamed to ask questions".

Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi brothers are very learned people in the Song Dynasty. In order to enrich their own learning, the scholar Yang Shi, resolutely gave up the high official pay, ran to Henan Yingchang to worship Cheng Hao as a teacher, humbly seeking advice.

Then Cheng Hao died, and he himself was more than 40 years old, but still determined to learn and study hard, and ran to Luoyang to worship Cheng Yi, Cheng Hao's younger brother, as his teacher. So, he went to Cheng's house with his friend, You Yu, to pay a visit to Cheng Yi.

But he met old Mr. Cheng with his eyes closed, sitting in a false sleep. At this time, it began to snow outside. The two men were eager to learn from the master, so they respectfully stood by, without saying anything, and waited for half a day, Cheng Yi slowly opened his eyes.
