Why can Suzhou Pingtan be protected as an intangible cultural heritage?

I have summarized three main reasons, please refer to:

1. Important cultural value: Suzhou Pingtan art prevailed in the Yangtze River Delta region such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. The spread and development of Pingtan has formed a performance system characterized by "speaking, answering, playing, singing and acting" and "reasoning, taste, interest, precision and strangeness", resulting in dozens of different styles of vocals. The content reflects the historical changes of China and becomes the carrier of traditional moral concept, historical concept and heroic concept. It also reflects the social outlook and secular customs of various periods, and can be called an encyclopedia of secular life. It has high protection and research value.

2. The traditional bibliography is about to be lost: Suzhou Pingtan is rich in cultural value, but because of its historical, artistic value and endangered status, there are dozens of Suzhou Pingtan and Tanci that have been circulating for one or two hundred years. These traditional bibliographies are the carriers of the accumulation of the art of pingtan. Since the founding of New China, not many books have been preserved. Nowadays, many excellent traditional bibliographies are rarely carried out, and some will be lost. As the art of storytelling, the art of ontology bookstore is declining, and Tanci is about to wither.

3. divorced from the present life: Pingtan originated from the people and has a broad mass base. Historically, pingtan was active in urban and rural areas. In the middle of the Cultural Revolution, Pingtan was divorced from the masses. Because of difficulties, there are fewer performances and fewer audiences. Although it was improved later, it still lost its broad mass base. In addition, there are too many traditional plays, and few new plays are created in combination with the present, which makes them farther and farther away from real life.
