What are the types of pressure sensors?
Pressure sensors are one of the most commonly used sensors in industrial practice. Generally the output of ordinary pressure sensors is an analog signal, which refers to the information parameters in a given range of performance as a continuous signal. Or in a period of continuous time interval, the characteristic quantity of its representative information can be presented in any instant for any value of the signal. The commonly used pressure sensors are mainly manufactured by utilizing the piezoelectric effect, and such sensors are also called piezoelectric sensors. Pressure sensors are the most widely used type of sensors. Traditional pressure sensors are mainly mechanical structure type devices, the deformation of the elastic element to indicate the pressure, but this structure is large in size and heavy in mass, and cannot provide electrical output. With the development of semiconductor technology, semiconductor pressure sensors have emerged. They are characterized by small size, light mass, high accuracy and good temperature characteristics. Especially with the development of MEMS technology, semiconductor sensors are moving toward miniaturization, and they have low power consumption and high reliability. Semiconductor piezoresistive type: Semiconductor piezoelectric impedance diffusion pressure sensor is formed on the surface of the sheet of semiconductor deformation pressure, through the external force (pressure) to make the sheet deformation and piezoelectric impedance effect, so that the change of impedance is converted into an electrical signal. Electrostatic capacitance type: Electrostatic capacitance type pressure sensors form a capacitance by placing the fixed pole of glass and the movable pole of silicon opposite to each other, and convert the change in electrostatic capacitance generated by deforming the movable pole by external force (pressure) into an electrical signal. (The E8Y operates on the electrostatic capacitance method, while other models use the semiconductor method.) Pressure sensors are mainly used in: booster cylinders, superchargers, gas-liquid booster cylinders, gas-liquid supercharger, presses, compressors, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and other fields.
