What should we pay attention to in the stable stage of systemic lupus erythematosus?

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is more common in women of childbearing age and is in the most active period in their lives. Once some patients know that they have SLE, they will never recover and lose confidence in life. Or too cautious everywhere, dare not eat this, dare not do that, life will no longer be fun; On the contrary, some patients are careless everywhere, which leads to repeated illness. In fact, as long as SLE patients get the correct diagnosis and treatment in time and arrange their daily life and diet reasonably, most of them can achieve satisfactory results, so that their condition can be relieved for a long time and remain stable, and they can work and live like normal people. There are many factors affecting SLE, such as infection, sun exposure, mental stress, stress state, pregnancy, taking female hormones, etc., which may induce lupus erythematosus or aggravate the original condition.

So, how can SLE patients prevent and avoid these unfavorable factors in their daily life and diet?

1. Don't be afraid or worried about the disease, don't be nervous, keep a happy mood and build up confidence in fighting the disease. At the same time, the care, consideration and spiritual encouragement of family members are also very important for the stability of the disease, because the research on the mental factors of SLE patients shows that mental stress or stress can cause immune system disorder through the endocrine system of neurodating, thus promoting or aggravating SLE. In the active stage of SLE, it is necessary to stay in bed and actively treat it. After the disease is controlled, students can take part in some jobs they can and return to school. Female patients can also have children under the guidance of doctors. Avoid heavy physical labor and excessive fatigue in work and life, live a regular life and ensure adequate sleep; Entertainment should be appropriate, especially avoiding playing mahjong all night.

2. Avoid sunlight and ultraviolet rays at ordinary times, especially those who are sensitive to sunlight. It is best to arrange outdoor activities in the morning or evening, and try to avoid going out when the sun is strong in the morning 10 to 4 pm. When going out, you should wear sunscreen, a parasol or a wide-brimmed hat, and light-colored long-sleeved shirts and trousers.

3. Pay attention to keep warm in the cold season, wear hats and masks when going out in winter to avoid colds and minimize infectious diseases such as colds, because infection can definitely induce lupus activity or aggravate the original condition. In the stable period, you can also carry out appropriate health care and sports activities, such as Qigong, playing Tai Ji Chuan, walking and so on. And avoid strenuous exercise.

4. Penicillamine, procainamide, chlorpromazine, hydralazine, etc. It should be avoided in drug treatment, drugs may induce lupus or aggravate the condition. Female patients of childbearing age should also avoid taking birth control pills and do not use drugs containing estrogen.

5.SLE is a systemic disease involving multiple organs, most commonly involving skin, kidney, lung, joints, heart and liver. In the daily diet should pay attention to the following points:

(1) Do not eat or eat less food that can enhance photosensitivity, such as figs, Chinese milk vetch, rape, yellow snail, celery, etc., and avoid sunlight after eating. Mushrooms such as mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms, as well as some edible pigments and tobacco also have potential effects on SLE. Try not to eat or eat less.

(2) High protein diet: SLE patients with renal damage often lose a lot of protein from urine, which will cause hypoproteinemia. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement enough high-quality protein, drink more milk and eat more foods rich in protein, such as bean products, eggs, lean meat and fish.

(3) Low-fat diet: SLE patients have less activity and poor digestive function, so they should eat light and digestible food instead of greasy food with more fat.

(4) Low-sugar diet: Because SLE patients take glucocorticoids for a long time, it is easy to cause hormonal diabetes and Cushing's syndrome, so it is necessary to control their appetite properly and eat less foods with high sugar content.

(5) Low-salt diet: Patients who use glucocorticoids or have kidney damage are prone to water and sodium retention and edema, so a low-salt diet is needed.

(6) Calcium supplementation to prevent osteoporosis caused by glucocorticoid; Eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins.

6. Don't be afraid of sex. Some married patients are indifferent to sex life after suffering from SLE, fearing that sex life will aggravate their condition. In particular, some girls' parents stop their children from falling in love and getting married on the grounds that they only need to save their lives after suffering from SLE. These ideas are unscientific. SLE patients can fall in love, get married and have children like normal people. Of course, just as normal people can't indulge themselves, SLE patients should be more restrained about their sexual life. Some patients with Sjogren's syndrome have decreased vaginal secretions and it is difficult to insert the penis. Just apply lubricating oil to the vagina before sex.

In short, SLE is by no means an incurable disease. Through reasonable treatment and diet, SLE patients can live a full and happy life.
