Common shapes and features of stone pillars;
Stone pillars can be divided into: unique pillars: rare, only found in Longshan Temple and Renhai Palace in Zhongli. Both of them were carved during the Japanese occupation period, with similar styles. The figure column in the back hall of Longshan Temple is carved by Guanyin Mountain with the theme of "outing". There are more than a dozen figures, including warriors in battle robes and woodcutter in monk's clothes, standing, sitting, squatting, riding carts, flowers, birds and animals interspersed among them, and mountains overlap.
There are as many character columns as flower-and-bird columns, which are located at the back shoulder column of Sanchuan Hall or the front porch column of the back hall. The earliest carving of stone pillars can be traced back to Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. In the early days, the Eight Immortals were only used as decorations for dragon pillars. After the Japanese occupation, the war figures in historical romance were taken as the prototype. The decoration of this "figure riding" is still decorated with dragon columns.
