What's the difference between Masayama race and black tea?
1. Raw materials: The young buds of small leaf tea trees such as Dahongpao and Narcissus in Wuyishan District, Nanping City, Fujian Province are used as raw materials for Zhengshan races, while the big leaf tea trees in Fujian, Yunnan and Anhui are mostly used for black tea.
2. Production technology: Zhengshan Race adopts traditional technologies such as picking, withering, rolling, spreading, frying, semi-fermentation, drying, etc. The black tea is picked, withered, kneaded, fermented/oxidized, immobilized, screened and dried.
3. Appearance: the tea strips of Zhengshan species are compact and strong, curled into a spiral shape and brown, while black tea turns red due to fermentation/oxidation.
4. Taste: Zhengshan species has a mellow and sweet taste and a unique rock rhyme in southern Fujian, while black tea often has a warmer citrus fragrance.
Generally speaking, Zhengshan and black tea are both high-quality teas. Although their production techniques are different, they all have rich fragrance, sweet and mellow taste and rich tasting experience.
