The title of this couplet is "five blessings". Who can tell me how to pronounce the third one?
Five Blessingg originated from The Book of Songs Hong Fan: "First, longevity, second, wealth, third, corning, fourth, friendship and virtue, fifth, final exam." These are the five criteria of ancient people's happiness in China. However, out of taboo, Huan Tan in the Eastern Han Dynasty changed the "final entrance examination" to "longevity, wealth, treasure, happiness and many children and grandchildren" in New Arguments on Doubts 13. Compared with the six poles, Five Blessingg is fierce, short, ill, worried, poor, evil and weak.
Understanding Five Blessingg's meaning in modern Chinese means: "longevity" means that life is not premature and long; "Wealth" means wealth, wealth and status; "Kangning" means good health and peace of mind; "Virtue" means kindness, generosity and tranquility; "A good death" means knowing your death in advance. At the end of his life, he left this world peacefully and freely, without any disaster, physical illness or worries.
