What's a zither? How is it played?

The zither is a descendant of the Chiku, the forerunner of Chinese bowed string instruments, and belongs to the Chiku family of musical instruments. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been widely used in the court and folklore.'' Due to the difference in the regions where they were handed down, there are variations in their form, playing style and name. In terms of shape, it can be divided into two types, the larger and the shorter ones, with the number of strings ranging from 7 to 13; and the playing form can be divided into two types, the sitting and the walking (standing) ones.

Arched, 9 strings, two holes on the back, and one hole for holding the instrument. When playing, the left hand thumb inserted into the holding hole, index finger hooked to a sound hole, the remaining three fingers naturally bent, the rolling piano support, by the wrist to adjust the strings and bow angle of the piano. The right hand holds the ponytail bow and pulls the strings, playing the sound of each string. The solo pieces include "The Great Opening" and "High Mountains and Flowing Water".
