What does 3G mean?
――WCDMA is the 3G technology of China Unicom and the mainstream technical standard of the third generation mobile communication in the world. It can realize the most extensive international roaming in the world, and provide greater system capacity, faster transmission rate and better communication quality than the second generation technologies-GSM and CDMA.
Tips:
There are three 3G standards in the world, namely WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA. In terms of technology and commercial application maturity, WCDMA technology adopted by China Unicom is the most mature and advanced 3G technology in the world.
At present, more than 300 operators in more than 100 countries have adopted WCDMA technology to build their 3G networks. Due to the backward compatibility of WCDMA technology, 3G users of China Unicom can still automatically log in to the local GSM network to realize roaming in countries or regions without WCDMA network, so the international roaming service of China Unicom can realize the most extensive roaming.
