The desirability of ancient monasticism

First of all whether it is the Three Character Classic, the Hundred Surnames, the Thousand Character Classic or the Thousand Poems, all of them are compilations made on the basis of Shi You's "Rush to the Prayer", and their styles and modes of writing follow the ideas of the "Rush to the Prayer", so the three hundred and one thousand are grouped together in one category.

First let's look at the Three Character Classic. The Three Character Classic is the most recognizable montessori textbook in ancient times, with a higher profile than its grandmother, the Rush to the Psalm, which is known as the Three Character Classic, but not the Rush to the Psalm. It is rumored that its author is a famous Confucian scholar Wang Yinglin in the Song Dynasty, but it has gone through a long time from its embryonic form to its final form, and successive generations have filled in and processed, so that it has become a content-rich reading material for monks. Ancient people said, "If you familiarize yourself with the Three Character Classic, you can know the world's affairs and the rites of the saints." The Three Character Classic has a history of more than seven hundred years since the Southern Song Dynasty, and with more than 1,000 words, it can be called a household name and popular among the people. The rhyming text of three characters and one sentence is extremely easy to recite, and covers traditional Chinese education, history, astronomy, geography, ethics and morals, as well as some folklore, in a broad and vivid yet concise manner. The Three Character Classic has long since ceased to belong only to the Han Chinese people; it has been translated into Manchu and Mongolian. The Three Character Classic no longer belongs to China alone, but has been translated into English and French, and the new English translation published in Singapore in 1990 was selected by UNESCO as part of the "Children's Moral Series", which has been popularized worldwide and is a must-have reading material for children.

Following the Yuan and Ming dynasties, many new versions of the Three Character Classic appeared one after another. In addition, there are also many use of the "Three Character Classic" form of adaptation of the "Three Character Classic" and the annotated version, but they have not been longer, more widely circulated.
