Men are taller than women on average. Why?

I think this can only be said to be an average statement for many reasons.

To say that I am not a medical or biological science major, I can only guess this question and try to answer it. Please correct me if there are any mistakes. Thank you for your loveliness.

First of all, there must be a congenital reason. It may be that hormones or genes in men make them particularly easy to grow taller, that is, they are very good at growing taller. This congenital may be given by our ancestors or by our parents. If both parents give birth to a boy and a girl at the same time, it seems that boys tend to jump higher.

Let's talk about the reason the day after tomorrow. I think this ratio may be much larger. The first boy eats a lot more than the girl. Eating more nutrition is naturally more conducive to physical development. This should be reasonable, I think.

Then, if I am in a family, I think parents themselves will pay more attention to the boy's height. It feels as if society requires boys to be taller than girls, but girls are fine, so parents will deliberately supplement some nutrition for boys and hope that they will grow taller.

There is also that boys generally like some sports that are conducive to height growth, such as basketball, more than girls. Playing basketball seems to be a universal message without scientific basis, but most people agree. Girls still play less basketball, so boys are more likely to grow taller in this respect.

Of course, with the improvement of economic level and rich nutrition, both boys and girls have a higher and higher trend.
