According to the arrangement, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will comprehensively investigate the sewage outlets in the main streams and important tributaries, key lakes and key bays of the seven major river basins, including the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Huaihe River, the Haihe River, the Pearl River, Songliao and Taihu Lake. According to several rounds of central environmental protection inspectors, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment found that some places made superficial remarks on pollution control, and the centralized collection and treatment rate of sewage was less than 1%; In some places, the construction of environmental infrastructure lags behind, and a large number of sewage is discharged directly, which has aroused great opinions from the masses. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment will guide and urge local governments to strengthen systematic governance, strengthen source control and pollution interception, and carry out in-depth investigation and rectification of sewage outlets to reduce the pollution load into the river and the sea.
