What are the similarities and differences between Genesis of Bible and Genesis of China?
There is only one male god in the Bible from beginning to end, and from beginning to end-God. But besides him, there are many little angels, who are only executors of God's will and cannot be called gods. In the Bible, God is a supernatural god, dominating everything, the master of the universe and the world, and his position is unparalleled and unparalleled. He is easy to punish and get angry. One thought can destroy the happiness of thousands of people, bring disaster to a clan, and show his absolute rule, power and status over the universe and mankind at any time.
On the contrary, in ancient China mythology, the dominant creator gods were mostly female gods. Especially among some ethnic minorities, the creator is mostly a goddess. We know that Nu Wa of Miao nationality, Maidel of Mongolian nationality, Ama Waibai of Jino nationality, Miruotuo of Yao nationality, etc. These goddesses are tall, superb in skills, capable of creating heaven and earth and giving life to all things. The ancient book "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" once recorded: "Hey, the ancient saint, the person who transformed everything." This shows the lofty status of the goddess in China mythology.
The image and personality of the creator are different.
God in the Bible has the ability to recognize shapes, personalities and emotions. God, like man, has joys and sorrows, and his character has both positive and negative sides. Just as Eve and Adam were punished by God after eating the fruit of the Garden of Eden, it reflected God's anger. Genesis wrote: "God declared to women:' I will greatly increase the pain of pregnancy and childbirth. You will depend on your husband and be controlled by him. "For another example, God later thought that the human world was too chaotic and cruel, leaving only the Noah family and some animals, and then a devastating flood destroyed the rest of mankind. Why doesn't this reflect its cruel and cold side? Therefore, the gods in the Bible, like human beings, have common feelings, but they have lofty status and unlimited power.
The gods in ancient China mythology are anthropomorphic, and most of their gods are anthropomorphic. We are familiar with the female Nuwa who created human beings, and she is the head of the snake. "Shan Hai Jing Xi Ye Jing" Guo Pu's note: "Nuwa, an ancient goddess, an emperor, a snake-faced snake body, changes seventy times a day." There is also a record in "Songs of the South": "Nu Wa has a body, who made it?" Wang Yi's note: "Nu Wa's head is a snake." According to statistics, among more than 450 gods in Shan Hai Jing, the ratio of humanoid gods to non-humanoid gods is about one to four. It can be seen that the images of gods in China's ancient myths are mostly half-man, half-beast. Different from the characters of the gods in the Bible, the gods in China's creation myth all have noble characters, unlike gods who are moody and irritable, and will punish or even destroy mankind if they go against their will. I think the story of Pangu, the goddess of mending heaven and the creator of the universe, fully embodies their character and is simply a model for mortals. Together with mankind, they conquered and transformed nature, became the patron saint of mankind, and even died for mankind. Here is another embodiment of the cultural differences between China and the West in these fairy tales.
The way of creation is different.
In the way of creation, the difference between China myth and Bible is very obvious.
The Bible Genesis records: "God said: Let there be light. Then, there was light. God said: there should be a layer of ice between the waters to divide the water into upper and lower parts. So he created the sky and separated the water from the upper and lower parts ... God said: water should nourish living things and birds should fly in the sky. So there are fish, birds and other animals. " From here, we can see how easy it is for God to create things. Everything is the result of "God said". You don't need to do it yourself, just talk, and everything will appear immediately. Matter becomes the product of God's consciousness.
In contrast, there are many hardships and tragedies in the creative activities of China's creators. Judging from the well-known Miao creator Pangu's epoch-making, Volume 9 of Guangbo Biography records: "The monarch of Pangu, man and beast snake body, hissed as wind and rain, blew as lightning, opened his eyes for the day, closed his eyes for the night, and after his death, his joints were mountains and rivers, his blood was blasphemous, and his hair was vegetation."
