What are the advantages of truss construction?
Truss structure characteristics, advantages and disadvantages and scope of application: Truss is rarely used independently in practical engineering, and it is often a bent roof truss. Truss is a kind of lattice structure system composed of bars. Assuming that the combination of bars is hinged, the internal force of bars is axial force (tension or pressure) under the action of external force, and it is uniformly distributed, so truss structure is more reasonable than beam structure. The internal force of truss members is axial force, while the internal force of beams is mainly bending moment, which is unevenly distributed. The uniform distribution of internal force of truss can give full play to material strength, reduce material consumption, reduce structural weight and increase structural span. Therefore, truss structure is a common structural form of long-span buildings, which is mainly used in public buildings such as stadiums, theaters, exhibition halls, canteens, food markets and shopping malls.
