Launched in September 2002, 21st Century News cooperated with the Central Institute for Educational Research and began to undertake the task of "Research on New Models of Teaching English Newspaper Reading", which is a sub-topic of the Ministry of Education's "Tenth Five-Year Plan" for National Educational Science. In order to make this project more quickly and better applied to the practice of English teaching, 21st Century Newspaper cooperated closely with the local education administration and teaching research departments nationwide, and set up nearly 100 English newspaper reading experimental schools as experimental bases of the project to carry out the research on the teaching mode, so as to facilitate the exchange and promotion, promote the reform and development of China's basic English teaching, and explore the law of English newspaper teaching. In order to fill the gaps of the current secondary school English teaching research in this field, these English newspaper reading experimental schools can be used as the experimental base for the project. These English newspaper reading experimental schools can drive more teachers to use our newspaper to develop teaching resources, to provide students with more close to life, close to the times of current affairs readings, at the same time for the newspaper to build a bridge of communication and contact with the readers, to strengthen the teaching function of the newspaper, so that the editorial department can understand the needs of teachers and students, and constantly improve the quality of the newspaper.
