What is jewelry, what is gemstone, what is jade

Gemstones (short for jewelry and jade) are the essence of nature. Ancient Roman scholar Pushkin once said: "In the tiny space of the gem contains the whole magnificent nature, only a gem is enough to show the beauty of all things". So what is a gemstone? The current definition of gemstone has two concepts: narrow and broad.

The narrow concept of gemstones: refers to the natural world, with magnificent color, crystal clear, hard and durable, rare and other properties, and can be faceted, carved into jewelry or handicrafts of minerals or rocks, part of the organic gemstones.

Some people also narrow the concept of gemstones further limited to natural single-crystal minerals, such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and so on.

Minerals are monomers or compounds formed by geological action, with a certain chemical composition, internal structure and physical properties. Rocks are collections of minerals. Crystals are solid substances with a lattice structure.

Broad concept of gemstone

A general term for all materials that have been faceted and carved to become jewelry or crafts, i.e., natural jewelry and jade and artificial gemstones.
