Couplets began in the Five Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of more than 1000 years. In fact, as early as before the Qin and Han dynasties, some parts of China had the custom of hanging peach symbols for the New Year. The appearance of Spring Festival couplets developed slowly on the basis of Fu Tao. Fu Tao will write the names of the legendary gods "Shencha" and "Lei Yu" on two mahogany boards and hang them on the left and right doors to exorcise ghosts and suppress evil souls. This custom lasted for more than 1000 years, until the Five Dynasties, when people began to write couplets on mahogany boards. According to the History of Song Dynasty.
