Difference between traditional seed market and transgenic seed market

Transgenic technology is obviously different from traditional breeding technology.

1, the scope and efficiency are different. Traditional breeding techniques can only achieve gene transfer within biological species, while the genes transferred by transgenic techniques are not limited by the genetic relationship between biological species, and can transfer genetic material across species or even genera, classes, phyla and boundaries.

2. Traditional breeding techniques are generally carried out at the individual level, and the object of operation is the whole genome. A large number of genes are transferred, so it is impossible to accurately operate and select a certain gene, and the offspring perform poorly.

3. Transgenic technology. Generally, one or several well-defined genes are manipulated and transferred, with clear functions and accurate performance of offspring. Scientific evidence proves that transgenic technology is more accurate than hybridization and other traditional breeding methods in introducing genetic material.
