How to make a homemade stationery box

The steps to make a stationery box are as follows:

1, You will need two different fabrics, about a yard each, a needle and thread, scissors, washable fabric markers or tailor's chalk, and a ribbon.

2. Cut a large rectangle from the two different fabrics. The fabric rectangles are the size of a pencil case.

12 will be enough.

3. Sew the rectangles together, sewing the sides of the fabrics together with each side facing the opposite way. Leave one long side unsewn and turn it inside out.

4. Cut a second piece of fabric the same size as the first rectangle. The first two pieces of fabric are 12, cut out another rectangle of 12.

5. Sew the new section to the original rectangle. Fold the newly cut fabric in half so that the printed side is on the outside.

Sew the folded edge to the bottom of the first rectangle where the fabric was sewn so that the open end is still open and in the center of the box.

6. Sew lines for the pencil bag. Sew on the folded lines every 2 minutes, going down the line that will fill the pencil gaps. Use a washable fabric marker or dressmaker's pen to mark the fabric at 2 intervals.

You can reinforce the stitching by doubling the stitching and going through the thread after the first seam allowance.

7. Sew your ribbon to one end of the case, opposite the outside pencil bag, and sew the band to the center of the case. Sew neatly along the edge of the ribbon and the pencil case.
