Bee Breeding Methods
The primitive way of bee rearing is usually to use wooden barrels, wooden boxes, masonry, tanks, jars, straw, bamboo and so on to make primitive hives, and then lure bees to enter the hives for rearing and collecting honey.
But the problem of this primitive way of beekeeping is that the size of the colony is small, easy to fly away, the amount of honey collected is small, and the amount of honey and other products obtained is small, so the advantages of the Chinese honeybee can not be fully utilized in a better way. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out scientific and large-scale rearing and management of Chinese bees.
Chinese bees like to be dense, and should often keep the spleen proportional to the bees, so as to protect the spleen, defend the nesting insects and other hostile invasions, and also be conducive to heat preservation and moisturizing. It has been proved in practice that in the winter intensive swarm potential, the honey consumption of the swarm province, overwintering safety; honey flow period intensive swarm potential, can promote the storage of honey fast, early maturity, high yield; the summer period intensive, can make the swarm potential retreat less, the enemy is difficult to invade.
Summer is a difficult time for beekeeping in the south. In addition to the above conditions, it is necessary to pay attention to shading, water feeding, prevention of enemy pests and keeping the swarms quiet in order to keep the bees safely in the summer.
Precautions for breeding:
1. There are sufficient honey sources. Within 3 kilometers around the apiary, there should be at least 2 major large areas of honey plants as well as a variety of alternate flowering auxiliary nectar sources, and these nectar plants should be free of pesticides, pests and diseases contamination.
2, the terrain is leeward and the environment is quiet. Choose the terrain is high and dry, leeward and sunny, there is open space, the environment is relatively quiet and sanitary.
3. Convenient transportation and clean water. It is convenient to transport bee swarms and bee products closer to the highway. Clean water is good for bees to drink.
