1. Logging identification: resistivity logging is generally used to judge according to the resistivity difference between gas and water layers. Usually, the resistivity of gas layer is greater than that of water layer.
2. Well test analysis: Gas production and water layer can be judged through well test. If there is an abnormal phenomenon that the pressure suddenly rises from decline in the process of stable well testing, it can be judged that this layer is a gas layer; If the pressure rises steadily, it can be judged that this layer is a water layer.
3. Core observation: gas and water layers can be judged by observing cores. If the core is loose and fractures are developed, it can be judged that this layer is a gas layer; If the core is dense and the fractures are not developed, it can be judged that this layer is a water layer.
