Definition 2: It refers to the sum of material, spiritual and institutional achievements that people have made while transforming the objective material world, looking at the relationship between man and nature and between people with Scientific Outlook on Development, constantly overcoming the negative effects of human activities, actively improving and optimizing the relationship between man and nature and between people, and building an orderly ecological operation mechanism and a good ecological environment. Discipline: resource science and technology (first-class discipline); Resource ecology (two disciplines)
Following material civilization, spiritual civilization and political civilization, China has put forward ecological civilization. He also wrote the political report of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and integrated the relationship between man and nature into the social development goal, which became the solemn commitment of China * * * production party to future generations and the world.
Ecological civilization refers to the sum of material and spiritual achievements made by human beings following the objective law of harmonious development of man, nature and society; It refers to a cultural and ethical form with the basic purpose of harmony, virtuous circle, all-round development and sustained prosperity between man and nature, man and man, and man and society. It will fundamentally change the form of human society.
Ecological civilization is a higher stage of the development of agricultural civilization and industrial civilization; In a narrow sense, ecological civilization and material civilization, spiritual civilization and political civilization are parallel forms of civilization, and they are civilizations that coordinate the relationship between man and nature. Under the concept of ecological civilization, material civilization will strive to eliminate the threat posed by economic activities to the stability and harmony of nature itself, and gradually form a mode of production, life and consumption in harmony with ecology; Spiritual civilization under ecological civilization advocates respecting nature, recognizing natural values, and establishing a culture and atmosphere of people's all-round development, thus transferring people's excessive emphasis and concern about material desires; Political civilization under ecological civilization respects the diversification of interests and needs, and pays attention to balancing various relationships to avoid ecological damage caused by unfair distribution of resources, struggles between people or groups, and abuse of power. Ecological civilization is a transcendence of existing civilization, which will guide human beings to give up hedonism, which emphasizes utility and material desire, and get rid of the tragedy of mutual loss between ecology and human beings.
I. Ecological Socialism
The environmental crisis in the west has triggered the green ecological movement, resulting in the concept of sustainable development, which is embodied in the theory and practice of ecological socialism. Economic growth, social justice and environmental protection are the core of sustainable development in the world, and ecological socialism is the core of this core.
Eco-socialism came into being in 1970s, which is the product of the combination of western ecological movement and socialist ideological trend, and is one of the top ten Marxist schools in the world today. In the 1980s, people's thinking on environmental issues went beyond the scope of ecology, and the ecological movement became a global political movement integrating environmental protection, peace and women's rights. The ideas advocated by the ecological movement, such as grass-roots democracy, ownership of means of production, production for social needs rather than just market profits, equality of results, social and environmental fairness, and harmony between man and nature, have given some left-wing scholars important enlightenment. They critically absorbed ecological theories such as environmentalism, ecologism, ecological ethics and post-modernism, attributed the root of the ecological crisis to the capitalist system itself, and tried to use Marxism to guide the ecological movement and find a new way out for socialism.
Since 1990s, the green movement has become the main force of the left-wing political school. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, many old party member joined green organizations. Some major political parties in the west have also increased their ruling weight by greening or uniting with the Green Party.
The ideological basis of ecological socialism is ecological Marxism.
Ecological Marxism belongs to political ecology, which holds that ecological problems are actually social and political problems, and only by abolishing the capitalist system can the ecological crisis be fundamentally solved. It is committed to the combination of ecological principles and socialism, trying to transcend capitalism and traditional socialist models and establish a new socialist model in which man and nature live in harmony. First, nature is the unity of objective nature and historical nature. Marx and Engels fully affirmed the priority of nature to human beings, and believed that nature restricted and regulated human survival and development. With the improvement of practical level, mankind will move towards harmony with nature. Second, man is the unity of natural existence and social existence. Marx believed that only on the basis of understanding the laws of nature, adjusting people's social existence attributes and actively adapting to nature can people's liberation be realized. Thirdly, the harmony between man and nature is an important basis for the coordination between man and society and the result of the socialist system.
The formation view of ecological socialism
On the basis of this idea, ecological socialism has formed the following viewpoints:
First of all, the capitalist system is the root of the global ecological crisis. Because its mode of production, which pursues unlimited profits, inherently involves the destruction of the natural environment, it inherently determines that it cannot truly achieve sustainable economic growth, and various environmental and economic policies cannot be put into practice. Globalization has accelerated the transfer and spread of ecological crisis. Ecological colonialism is getting worse. Because their own resources can not maintain the existing economic scale and living standards, developed countries quietly exploit them through capital globalization, making developing countries all over the world pay for their own resources and environment. The high standards of environmental protection set by developed countries urge their high-energy industries to transfer to underdeveloped countries, and even regard the Third World as a dump for all kinds of wastes. Environmental problems have repeatedly given way to new economic growth led by capitalism. The so-called sustainable summit can only reach symbolic agreements on some small issues. Under the existing capitalist international order, it is impossible to make substantial progress on key issues such as financial and technical assistance, trade obligations, health care, education, debt relief and renewable energy production.
Second, the ecological crisis has become a new means to transfer the economic crisis. Ecological socialism thinks that Marx's economic crisis theory underestimates the ability of capitalism to control the crisis. Today's crisis has shifted from the production field to the consumption field, which is the best way for capitalism to transfer the crisis. Contemporary capitalist economic system depends on economic and technological advantages; The second is to achieve self-maintenance by constantly creating new public consumption demand. Manufacturing and manipulating consumption is actually "shifting the target" and shifting the economic crisis to the ecological crisis.
Third, the essence of environmental problems is social equity. The group affected by environmental disasters is a broader social equity issue. The essence of capitalism cannot stop exploitation and achieve fairness. Only socialism can truly solve the problem of social equity, thus fundamentally solving the problem of environmental equity. Today's environmental problems have already surpassed a country or a region and become a common problem faced by all mankind. To solve this problem, we must acquire * * * knowledge; To acquire * * * knowledge, it must be fair; In all fairness, the existing unfair international order manipulated by developed capitalist countries must be changed; To change the existing international order, we can only develop socialism, because the essence of socialism is fairness.
Fourth, economic rationality must be replaced by ecological rationality. Ecological socialism holds that Marx's criticism of capitalist mode of production is a criticism of economic rationality. Economic rationality will only dehumanize workers and turn them into machines; It will only turn the relationship between people into a money relationship; It will only turn the relationship between man and nature into a tool relationship. Ecological rationality tries to use labor, capital and resources properly to produce more durable and better products to meet people's needs. These are two diametrically opposed motives, namely, profit motive and sustainable development motive.
Fifth, the interpretation of the future society. The future society should be a qualitative change in the history of human civilization and a new society integrating economic efficiency, social justice and ecological harmony. This society is bound to be a sustainable society, and the sustainable society will adopt the mode of ecological economy, which is the sustainable law that binds everyone's economic activities, and the socialist system is the fundamental guarantee for realizing ecological economy. On the surface, developed countries obviously have more material conditions for building a green society than developing countries, but in major developed countries, the requirements and motivation of green change are not the mainstream of social politics. At the same time, developing countries desperately learn from developed countries and follow the traditional western production and consumption patterns. Such a world is almost doomed to be unsustainable. Sustainable development needs social change.
Sixth, the choice of the power of change. Traditional socialism has always emphasized that the power of change is the working class. But now the western working class is not only shrinking faster than other classes in scale, but also becoming very conservative because of its increasing dependence on the capitalist economy. Ecological socialists believe that the main force of social change should be the "middle class" with intellectuals and young students as the main body, followed by trade unions. Although the working class lacks enough "ecological consciousness", they are the most direct class suffering from environmental pollution after all, and still contain the ultimate revolution, which is the main force of future social change.
Ecological socialism uses Marx's theory on the basic contradiction of capitalism to upgrade the basic contradiction of capitalism to "the basic contradiction of capitalist production and the whole ecological system", and holds that ecological deterioration is the inherent logic of capitalism, so the only way to solve the problem lies in smashing the logic itself. Ecological socialism traces the causes of ecological problems back to the fundamental system, which is consistent with the basic viewpoint of traditional socialism.
The difference between ecological socialism and traditional socialism
What's the difference between ecological socialism and traditional socialism?
First, there are different interpretations of the contradictions of the times. Scientific socialism explains more about how countries with low economic development level carry out modernization. Democratic socialism explains more how countries with higher economic development level can improve the degree of democratization. Ecological socialism should explain the contradiction between man and nature that all developed and developing countries face together. Scientific socialism and democratic socialism can achieve their goals to a certain extent at the national level, while the goal of ecological socialism can only be achieved at the global level.
Second, pursue different institutional goals. The goal of scientific socialism is superior to the capitalist political and economic system. The goal of democratic socialism is to improve the capitalist political and economic system as much as possible. Ecological socialism is to establish a political and economic system that transcends all kinds of doctrines and takes sustainable development as the principle.
Third, the political forces relied on are different. The political transformation of scientific socialism depends on a political party that has always maintained its advanced nature and combat effectiveness. The political improvement of democratic socialism depends on the support of fixed voters. Ecological socialism regards green organizations, new political movements, traditional workers' movements and cooperation between political parties as the driving force of social change, that is, relying on the spirit of democratic consultation among different groups, different parties and different countries and dialogue under the principle of multicultural values.
In practice, ecological socialism can't solve such problems as how to increase the economy, how to build a political system, how to improve people's living standards, and how to protect the interests of the nation and the state. Some people think that ecological socialism takes intellectuals and young students as the main force of social change, opposes violent revolution and advocates a peaceful transition from capitalism to socialism, which is contrary to Marxist theory. Therefore, ecological socialism is only a theory that appeared after western countries became rich. Its criticism of capitalism has far greater moral significance than practical significance, and it is a kind of "philosophy of the rich". However, some people say that it may be precisely at this point that it is more in line with Marx's logic, that is, * * * productism is based on the great richness of capitalist material civilization.
The core of ecological socialism has three aspects, one is sustainable development, the other is criticism of the essence of capitalism, and the third is a new exposition of the essence of socialism. From another angle, this greatly confirms the great significance of China's * * * production party's proposal of Scientific Outlook on Development three years ago. Many people equate Scientific Outlook on Development with a simple change of economic development model. Even the construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society has been reduced to the technical level. This is very one-sided. Scientific Outlook on Development pursues the overall reform of sustainable development in political, economic, social and cultural fields, including ideology and system. The profound connotation of socialism that Scientific Outlook on Development can explore is far from exhausted, and the socialist ideology and culture that Scientific Outlook on Development can supplement is far from complete.
Under the background of globalization, different ecological movements have appeared in North and South countries. The theme of northern countries is to prevent pollution, and the theme of southern countries is to prevent resource exhaustion. Solving the global environmental and resource dilemma requires global consultation and global knowledge, and the traditional western industrial civilization model must be abandoned in a planned way on a global scale. Compared with the capitalist system, socialism can better achieve ecological balance, because the starting point of socialism is not profit, and its real environmental problems are not caused by the inherent nature of socialism, but the result of violating this inherent nature. The contradiction between world resources and environment has created conditions for the re-emergence of socialism.
Today's ecological socialism is a great supplement to traditional socialism. Ecological socialism expects the combination of ecological movement and workers' movement to fight against the current capitalism. It is not easy. Because western industrial capital has been transferred to developing countries in large quantities, the surplus labor force in developing countries cannot flow around the world, resulting in absolute surplus. In terms of ecology and employment, most workers choose the latter. The greatest enlightenment of ecological socialism lies in ideology and culture, that is, the inherent nature of socialism requires it to lead the great transformation of the world from industrial civilization to new civilization. We are on the eve of a new civilization. This is ecological civilization.
Second, ecological civilization.
Civilization is the result of the development of human culture, the sum of material and spiritual achievements of human beings in transforming the world, and the symbol of human social progress.
The Book of Changes says, "Seeing dragons in the field makes the world civilized." In the Tang Dynasty, when Kong Ying Da annotated Shangshu, he explained "civilization" as follows: "The text is said by the latitude of the sky, and the light is bright on all sides." "Jing Tian Di Wei" means to transform nature and belongs to material civilization; "Look around" means to drive away ignorance and belongs to spiritual civilization. In the western language system, the word "civilization" comes from the synonym of "city-state" in ancient Greece.
Human civilization has gone through three stages. The first stage is primitive civilization. Around the Stone Age, people had to rely on collective strength to survive, and material production activities mainly relied on simple gathering, fishing and hunting, which lasted for millions of years. The second stage is agricultural civilization. The appearance of iron has made a qualitative leap in people's ability to change nature, which lasted for 10 thousand years. The third stage is industrial civilization. /kloc-the British industrial revolution in the 0/8th century opened up 300 years of modern human life. In terms of elements, the main body of civilization is people, which is reflected in transforming nature and reflecting on itself, such as material civilization and spiritual civilization; In terms of time, civilization has stages, such as agricultural civilization and industrial civilization; In terms of space, civilizations are diverse, such as African civilization and Indian civilization.
Three hundred years of industrial civilization is characterized by human conquest of nature. The development of world industrialization has brought the culture of conquering nature to the extreme; A series of global ecological crises show that the earth can no longer support the continued development of industrial civilization. It is necessary to create a new form of civilization to continue human existence, which is ecological civilization. If agricultural civilization is "yellow civilization" and industrial civilization is "black civilization", then ecological civilization is "green civilization".
Ecology refers to the relationship and existing state between organisms and between organisms and the environment, that is, natural ecology. Natural ecology has its own laws of development. Human society has changed the working conditions of this law and brought the natural ecology into the range that human beings can transform, which has formed civilization.
Ecological civilization refers to the sum of material and spiritual achievements made by human beings following the objective law of harmonious development of man, nature and society; It refers to a kind of cultural and ethical form with the basic purpose of harmony, virtuous circle, all-round development and sustained prosperity between man and nature, man and man, and man and society. Its appearance is based on human reflection on the material civilization that has ruled human society for a long time. The finiteness of natural materials determines the finiteness of human material wealth. Only by liberating from the pursuit of the oneness of material wealth and pursuing the richness of spiritual life can human beings realize their all-round development. This will undoubtedly bring about fundamental changes in the form of human society.
The first is the change of ethical values. Western traditional philosophy holds that only man is the subject, and other life and nature are human objects; Therefore, only people have value, and other life and nature have no value; So we can only talk about morality to people, not to other life and nature. This is the philosophical basis for industrial civilized people to rule nature. Ecological civilization holds that not only man is the subject, but nature is also the subject; Not only people are valuable, but also nature is valuable; Not only people have the initiative, but naturally they also have the initiative; Not only people depend on nature, but all life depends on nature. Therefore, human beings should respect life and nature and enjoy the same earth with other life. Whether it is the humanitarianism of Marxism, the unity of man and nature in China traditional culture, or the sustainable development of the west, it shows that ecological civilization is a social form with a comprehensive unity of human nature and ecology. This unity is not that human nature obeys ecology, nor that ecology obeys human nature. In today's words, the principle of people-oriented ecological harmony is the premise of everyone's all-round development.
The second is the transformation of production and lifestyle. Industrial civilized production methods, from raw materials to products to waste, are non-circular production; Lifestyle is based on materialism and characterized by high consumption. It is considered that consuming more resources is a contribution to economic development. Ecological civilization is committed to building an environment-friendly society based on the carrying capacity of environmental resources, with natural laws as the criterion and sustainable social, economic and cultural policies as the means. The key to economic, social and environmental success lies in human initiative. People's lifestyle should be active, practical and economical, characterized by moderate consumption, pursuing the satisfaction of basic living needs and advocating spiritual and cultural enjoyment.
Since ecological civilization is a new trend in the world, it should rise in developed countries first, because the ecological crisis broke out there first. But first, because of the strong technical funds in the west, the ecological crisis in China has been alleviated; Second, because the great inertia of western industrial civilization will continue for quite some time; Third, because western capitalism has continuously transferred ecological costs to underdeveloped areas, the west has lost the opportunity to develop ecological civilization. The loss of opportunities in the west provides opportunities for the leap-forward development of the Chinese nation.
Third, ecological civilization and Chinese civilization.
Although Chinese civilization is a latecomer to industrial civilization, the basic spirit of Chinese civilization is basically consistent with the inherent requirements of ecological civilization. From political and social systems to cultural philosophy and art, all of them shine with the light of ecological wisdom. Ecological ethics is one of the main connotations of China's traditional culture, which makes it possible for us to take the lead in rethinking and surpassing the "materialized civilization" that has ruled mankind since the Renaissance and become the first responder of ecological civilization.
China has had laws and regulations related to ecological protection in past dynasties. For example, "Yizhoushu" said: "Danger is forbidden, and in spring and March, the mountain does not climb an axe." Because trees have just revived in spring. When do you cut it? "Zhou Li" said: "The grass and trees are scattered, and then they enter the mountains." Besides protecting the ecology, we should also avoid pollution. For example, "the law of yin, abandon the ashes and righteousness, break their hands." Discarding dust and waste in the street means cutting off your hand. Although cruel, it is unambiguous to attach importance to the environment. This system is not the personal consciousness of the rulers, but the connotation of Chinese civilization itself. Chinese civilization with Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism as its core has formed a systematic ecological ethics in the course of thousands of years' development.
The core of China's Confucian ecological wisdom is virtue, which wholeheartedly understands nature, advocates "the unity of man and nature", and its essence is "the unity of subject and object", affirming the unity of man and nature. As the saying goes, "Heaven and earth have changed, and sages can make it work", "It is close to heaven and earth, so it doesn't violate", and "Knowing the things around you, and Tao is the world, so it doesn't violate". By affirming the intrinsic value of everything in the world, Confucianism advocates being kind to nature and paying attention to the unity of man and nature, and further extends the ethical principles to nature through family and society, which embodies the people-oriented value orientation and humanistic spirit. As the Doctrine of the Mean says: "If you can make good use of human nature, you can make good use of things; If you can make the best use of it, you can praise the teaching of heaven and earth; If you can praise the cultivation of heaven and earth, you can go to heaven and earth. " Confucian ecological ethics embodies its pursuit of an ideal society of tolerance and harmony.
The ecological wisdom of Taoism in China is a kind of naturalistic ethereal wisdom, which perfects self-life by fearing everything. Taoism emphasizes that people should respect the laws of nature as the highest criterion, and advocates that imitating heaven and earth by nature is the basic transformation of life behavior. It is emphasized that man must conform to nature and reach the realm of "heaven and earth coexist with me, and everything is one with me". Zhuangzi called "materialization" a state in which there is me in things, there is something in me, and things and I are one, which is also the unity of subject and object. This ecological philosophy, which pursues transcending material desires and affirms the unity of things and me, plays an irreplaceable role in China's traditional culture and is also related to modern environmental friendliness and modern ecological ethics.
The core of China's Buddhist ecological wisdom is to seek liberation by caring for all things, to inspire people to know the truth of all things and to improve their lives. Buddhists believe that everything is the unity of Buddhism, all beings are equal, and everything has the right to live. "Nirvana Sutra" says: "All sentient beings feel Buddha-like, and living in the Tathagata is no different." Think that all life is itself and contains other things, and being kind to other things means being kind to yourself. From the standpoint of being kind to all things, Buddhism regards "not killing" as the first of the "five commandments". Ecological ethics has become the cultivation content of Buddhism's compassion and kindness, and ecological practice has become a concrete means to realize Buddhism. This kind of compassionate ecological ethics spirit in the relationship between man and nature objectively provides people with a channel to realize their own value through altruism.
The Zhouyi is often used to express the spirit of Chinese civilization by "striving for self-improvement" and "respecting morality and carrying things". This is consistent with the connotation of ecological civilization. The spirit of Chinese civilization is the cultural basis for solving ecological crisis, surpassing industrial civilization and building ecological civilization. Some western ecologists suggest that ecological ethics should "turn to the East". 1988, 75 Nobel Prize winners gathered in Paris. The conclusion reached after the meeting is: "If human beings want to survive in the 2 1 century, they must go back to 2500 years ago and learn from Confucius."
The problem is that thinking and action are not the same, and it is not difficult to accept the wisdom of the East. However, if China traditional civilization wants to contribute to the formation and practice of ecological civilization, it also faces the problem of innovation and development. This requires ecological rationality to examine our development principles. Ecological rationality holds that once human rationality is separated from the environment, it will be worthless. Only by combining with the realistic requirements of the environment can we correctly judge human behavior. Ecological rationality has the characteristics of humanization, naturalization and integration. It is a new philosophical view of western philosophy in the face of ecological crisis, and it is a reflection on the absolutization, instrumentalization and dogmatism of scientific reason. For a long time, many people have regarded Chinese civilization as the product of pre-modern times from the perspective of absolute scientific rationality and adopted a critical and exclusive attitude.
It is also under the principle of ecological rationality that western thinkers show more and more recognition of oriental wisdom, which has participated in the ideological and cultural construction of the western world. For us, China's cultural spirit has been gradually valued by the world, which is only the beginning of a deeper cultural problem. We should not only prevent one-sided retro; We should also dialectically treat the role of scientific rationality in the process of China's modernization. But scientific rationality must be combined with ecological rationality, just as western civilization is combined with eastern civilization. We should use humanistic spirit to correct the absolute tendency of scientific rationality, and also use moral principles to examine pragmatism. Although we live in China culture, the main logic that dominates our modernization practice is still western. In the end, the model of western traditional industrial modernization is difficult to replicate, especially for China, which means a deeper conflict between resources and environment. Therefore, it is especially necessary to use Chinese civilization to correct our modernization direction, straighten out our cultural structure and make the ecological wisdom of Chinese civilization an important part of ecological civilization.
Ecological civilization alone is not enough. We also need a new socialist practice, that is, from socialism based on industrial civilization to socialism based on ecological civilization.
Fourth, ecological civilization and socialism.
The transformation of civilization determines the changes of social, political and economic systems. Agricultural civilization leads to feudalism, industrial civilization promotes the rise of capitalism, and ecological civilization will promote the all-round development of socialism.
Marxism transcends capitalism and includes reflection on industrial civilization, thus making ecological civilization the inherent requirement of Marxism and the fundamental attribute of socialism. Engels said: "People will re-feel and realize that they are consistent with nature, and the absurd and anti-natural view of opposing spirit and matter, man and nature, soul and body is even more impossible. However, it is not enough to implement this adjustment only by understanding. This also needs to completely change our existing production methods and our entire social system today. "
The inevitable result of the complete transformation of the whole capitalist social system is the establishment of a capitalist society. * * * Capitalist society is an ecological civilized society that has realized the "two great reconciliations" between man and nature and between people. Marx pointed out: "As a complete naturalism, * * productism is equal to humanitarianism; As a complete humanism, it is equal to naturalism. It is to truly solve the contradiction between man and nature, between people, and the struggle between existence and essence, objectification and self-confirmation, freedom and necessity, and between individuals and classes. "
Ecological civilization embodies the basic principles of socialism. Socialist ecological civilization first emphasizes people-oriented, while opposing extreme anthropocentrism and extreme eco-centrism. Extreme anthropocentrism has caused a serious crisis of human existence; However, extreme eco-centrism overemphasizes that human society must stop transforming nature. Ecological civilization holds that man is the center of value, but he is not the master of nature. The all-round development of man must promote the harmony between man and nature. In addition, in terms of sustainable development, fairness and justice, ecological civilization is basically consistent with contemporary socialist principles.
Ecological civilization should be the foundation of socialist civilization system. Socialist material civilization, political civilization and spiritual civilization are inseparable from ecological civilization. Without good ecological conditions, people can't have high material enjoyment, political enjoyment and spiritual enjoyment. Without ecological security, mankind will fall into an irreversible survival crisis. Ecological civilization is the premise of material civilization, political civilization and spiritual civilization.
Ecological civilization can only be socialist. As a transcendence of industrial civilization, ecological civilization represents a more advanced form of human civilization; As a transcendence of capitalism, socialist thought represents a better ideal of social harmony. Their internal consistency enables them to stand on each other and develop with each other. Ecological civilization provides development space for the integration of various socialist theories at a higher level, and socialism provides institutional guarantee for the realization of ecological civilization.
Capitalism liberated people from feudal shackles and religious imprisonment, but at the same time it brought new exploitation and oppression, which made socialism come into being. Since the birth of socialism, there are two choices: revolution and improvement. Whether it is scientific socialism or democratic socialism, we should study the rich vitality of capitalist self-development and think about the advantages and disadvantages brought by capitalist industrial civilization to all mankind. Aiming at a series of difficult problems brought by globalization, such as ecological problems, ecological socialism and other new schools of socialism, we not only make theoretical innovations in socialism, but also combine Marxism with contemporary global issues in practice. Although the theory and practice of ecological socialism are still thin and full of idealism, it does provide imagination for socialism to deal with global problems and is a further improvement of scientific socialism. Due to the rapid development of contemporary productive forces, socialism should not only study the class relationship based on industrial civilization, but also study the cultural ethics between man and nature. This is the meaning of ecological civilization.
For China, the idea of ecological harmony contained in China's traditional culture provides a profound philosophical foundation and ideological source for the realization of ecological civilization. Today, China's * * * production party has put forward a series of new political ideas, such as Scientific Outlook on Development and building a harmonious socialist society (including an environment-friendly society), which are of reference significance to ecological socialism, the concept of sustainable development in the world and China's traditional culture. The integration of the two will certainly promote the ecological civilization of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the new trend of sustainable development worldwide, the real substitution of socialism for capitalism, the all-round development of human beings and the harmony of human society. China is duty-bound.
