Jiangsu is bordered by the Yellow Sea and the Pacific Ocean to the east, and shares borders with Shanghai Municipality, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province and Shandong Province, as well as with the islands of Kyushu in Japan, Jeju in South Korea, and California, the largest state in the U.S., with which it has already concluded a sister-province-state relationship, and set up the "Jiangsu Province-California" Joint Economic Commission.
