Night Rain and Autumn Lantern Record
The Night Rain and Autumn Lights is a famous novel written by Qing Xuanding in the late Qing Dynasty. The predecessors' evaluation of it is that "the book is amazing, the behavior is abnormal, the ridicule of people is inseparable." Most of the stories described in Night Rain and Autumn Lights are magical, grotesque and confusing. Through these stories, the author reflects the social reality, describes the human world, expresses the feelings of life and spreads the way to persuade the good. The number of exhibitions is everywhere, too many things to see; The scroll closes, the sound lingers, and God is still there.
In the third year of Guangxu (1877), The Record of Night Rain in Qiu Guang was published by Shanghai Newspaper Office in imitation of the original edition, with a total of eight volumes, 1 15 articles. In the 6th year of Guangxu reign (1880), The Continuation of Night Rain in Qiu Guang was published, and it was still eight volumes, with 1 15 articles. "The Night Rain in Qiu Guang" and "The Night Rain in Qiu Guang" profoundly reflect the fate of ordinary people and the turbulent social state in the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, some attacked feudal ethics and marriage system, some exposed dark bureaucrats, satirized the shortcomings of the times, and some praised extravagance and narrowness. The works with the theme of love between men and women are the most successful, such as Qiu in Leper, Wu Sheng's An Affair, Xue and so on. Xuanding's Records of Qiu Guang on a Rainy Night and Continued Records of Qiu Guang on a Rainy Night are full of twists and turns, and their writing style is beautiful but not gorgeous. The author often makes shocking remarks in an unpalatable article, which is thought-provoking, and can be said to be the best among many classical Chinese novels chasing Peng's Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio. The Night Rain and Autumn Lights is regarded as the masterpiece of novels in Qing Dynasty. In A Brief History of China's Novels, Mr. Lu Xun said: "The Sixteen Volumes of Night Rain and Autumn Lights (preface to the 21st year of Guangxu) were written purely in the form of Liaozhai, which was widely circulated at one time. However, as recorded, foxes and ghosts are getting thinner and fireworks are flourishing. " This paper makes an objective evaluation of The Night Rain in Qiu Guang.
