What are the characteristics of Bai folk houses?
1, Bai residential buildings. Popular in Dali, Eryuan, Jianchuan, Heqing and other Bai inhabited areas in Yunnan. Most of them are two-story buildings with three bays, the roof is covered with tubular tiles, and the double eaves extend forward, showing a front porch pattern. Walls, doors, windows, cornices and other parts are decorated with stones (strips) engraved with geometric lines and pockmarked patterns, and walls are often made of pebbles. Lime-painted walls, white walls and blue tiles are particularly eye-catching.
2. The corner of the mountain is decorated with ink and wash patterns, which is elegant and generous. Wood carving art is also widely used in lattice doors, cross-dressing, board rafts, playing with people's heads, hanging columns, corridor railings and so on. Especially the woodcarving of the lattice door is the most conspicuous. Some folk houses in Xizhou and Haidong areas of Dali also have clay sculptures, mostly dragons and phoenixes, ancient bottles and flowers.
3. The pastel wall with cornices on the tile roof is the most concentrated place for artistic decoration in the building. Raised blue bricks are combined into colorful three-dimensional patterns, and the center of each group is painted with pastel or marble, inlaid with natural landscape patterns. Put some plastic fish on both sides to show stability. Flower beds are often built at the foot of zhaobi, with flowers overflowing and quiet and elegant. The zhaobi, the main building and the buildings on both sides form a pattern of three squares and one zhaobi.
4. In addition, the woodcarving, stone carving and pastel painting of more advanced quadrangle buildings, such as the four-in-five patios and the six-in-one spring, are more concentrated and prominent. Bai folk houses are a major landscape of Bai architectural art. Different from nomadic people, Bai people have been engaged in agricultural production mainly based on rice since ancient times, which is a settlement form. Settlement is the most important feature of farming people, so paying attention to living conditions has become the most traditional lifestyle of Bai people. ?
5. There are many marble heads, most of the Bai folk houses are made of local materials, and stone is widely used as the main building material. There is a saying in Dali that "there are three treasures in Dali, but the stone walls do not fall down", which refers to the characteristics of building materials. Stones are not only used to lay foundations and build walls, but also used as beams for doors and windows. The characteristics of this kind of wood follow the architectural style of Nanzhao. According to records, Nanzhao's residential buildings are "all lanes and alleys are built with stones, which are high and continuous for miles".
6. Bai people advocate white, and the exterior walls of buildings are mainly white. Judging from the basic style of courtyard layout, architectural structure and indoor and outdoor decoration, Bai folk houses have a traditional inheritance from the central plains folk houses. Due to the differences in natural environment and aesthetic taste, Bai folk houses have their own obvious national style and local characteristics.
7. All buildings of the Bai nationality, including ordinary houses, are inseparable from exquisite carving and painting decoration. Wood carving is mostly used in lattice doors, cross curtains, boards, tricks, hanging columns and other building parts. Rolling grass, flying dragons, bats and jade rabbits, all kinds of animal and plant patterns are ever-changing and can be used freely. There are also many landmark works, such as The Golden Lion Hanging the Hydrangea, Kirin Watching the Banana, Feng Dan Containing Beads, Qiuju Taiping and so on.
8. Bai people pay great attention to the elegance and neatness of their living environment. Most people's patios are generally built with flower beds, and several tree fruit trees such as camellia, osmanthus, osmanthus, pomegranate and rafters are planted. Potted flowers such as orchids are placed in flower beds or eaves. Planting and loving flowers is a traditional virtue of Bai nationality.
