Specialties of Haeguan

Shimonoseki's cuisine is dominated by seafood, with puffer fish, sea urchins, and whale products being the most famous.

Kawara Soba: Kawara Soba is a famous noodle dish of Shimonoseki's Kawara Onsen. Instead of a plate, tea soba is served on a hot burning tile, making the soba crispy and delicious, and then dipped in a unique soup, which is very tasty.

Kame-no-koshi pancakes: Kame-no-koshi pancakes are one of the traditional confectioneries.

Yanryuyaki: Yenryuyaki is a representative of Shimonoseki, and it is very delicious.

Mentaiko: "Mentaiko" is the egg of mentaiko fish marinated in chili pepper and various seasonings, which is loved by Japanese people, and in fact, the birthplace of mentaiko is Shimonoseki. Eating mentaiko mixed with rice or pasta is a common way of seasoning in Japan.

Tonchan-nabe: Tonchan-nabe is a beef nabe invented by Koreans living in Shimonoseki, and is rich in flavor and nutrients. This is the only place where you can get a taste of authentic Tonchan nabe.
