What is a solid-state hard disk and what are its advantages over traditional hard disks?

SSD is composed of a control unit and a storage unit (FLASH chip). Simply speaking, it is a hard disk made of an array of solid-state electronic storage chips. The interface specification and definition, functions and usage of SSD are the same as those of ordinary hard disks.
